The Invisible Raptor (2023) Review
The Invisible Raptor (2023) Review
A secret experiment spirals out of control, unleashing a hyper-intelligent invisible raptor. The apex predator terrorizes the surrounding neighbourhood, leaving nothing but a bloody trail in its wake. The town’s only hope for survival rests in the hands of an unlikely team of heroes: a disgraced palaeontologist, his ex-girlfriend, an unhinged security guard, and a local celebrity farmer.
The Invisible Raptor stars Mike Capes, Sandy Martin (NAPOLEON DYNAMITE, THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE OF EBBING, MISSOURI) David Shackleford (THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY, KINGPIN), Caitlyn McHugh Stamos (I AM LEGEND) and Sean Astin (THE GOONIES, THE LORD OF THE RINGS). The film is directed by Mikey Hermosa.
Low-budget comedy horror THE INVISIBLE RAPTOR weighs in with a near two-hour runtime. Unfortunately, there is little on offer to substantiate that, and interest fades early on. Everything kicks off amiably but soon flags as the makers never knows when to call it a day or when to prune anything surplus to requirement.
The constant nods to Spielberg only serve to remind that THE INVISIBLE RAPTOR lack the infamous director’s finesse and razzle dazzle. Perhaps if more effort was put into making the viewer laugh instead of referencing Spielberg classics, which fast becomes wearing. I had anticipated a trashy low-budget laugh-fest ladened with gore, there is gore but in every other department I was left wanting.
THE INVISIBLE RAPTOR will be available on digital from 8th September.
