Piglet (2025) Review

This isn’t the Piglet you know; this Pork will chop you up. A monstrous human-pig hybrid hunts friends on a bloody killing spree after escaping the Hundred Acre Wood.

Where WINNIE-THE-POOH: BLOOD AND HONEY and its sequel took the slasher route and occasionally dropped in other references to A.A. Milne’s work along the way, director Andrea M. Catinella’s PIGLET opts to dispense with any associations to the original work and with being just another slasher and instead takes THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE route. Instead of a ‘flesh’ mask, Piglet wears a pig mask (obviously), dons an apron, bludgeons his victims to death and is cannibalistic exactly like Leatherface.

PIGLET is not too shabby for a lower-budget film, some of the shots are nicely framed, and the kill scenes are surprisingly aggressive and brutal. Unfortunately, the film overall is just not interesting, and that this is yet another recent horror-themed take on a beloved Disney character that has fallen into public domain hampers it further. PIGLET is better than both WINNIE-THE-POOH: BLOOD AND HONEY and its sequel, however as both are those are truly awful its hardly a great yardstick to be measured up against.
