Jurassic Island (2022) Review
Ava uncovers the whereabouts of her missing Father to an unchartered Island; a mythical lost world uncovered before them by her grandfather. Joined by a group of adventurers and scientists, they arrive at Jurassic Island where it becomes clear that the previous team had run into disaster. Dinosaurs and toxic leeches mean it’s no longer a search for her father, but a battle for survival.

Upon settling down to watch JURASSIC ISLAND I wasn’t expecting much, after all it’s a low-budget dinosaur flick that may have been released now to tie in with the forthcoming Hollywood blockbuster JURASSIC PARK: DOMINION (out June 2022) and well, low-budget dinosaur flicks just have a tendence to suck.
And yes, the effects work is not going to win over those that are precious about such things, and yes, the film’s continuity is lacking in places, with characters wet with rain one moment, completely dry the next, but do you know what, it works. It’s fun, fast, for the most part well-acted, boasts a terrific score and there’s a great use of the outdoor locations. Rather uniquely it’s British, and that is always a treat, and it’s one of the better lower-budget British flicks I have sat through in a long time. Enjoy it for what it is rather than what you think it should be and you’ll have a blast.
