Cry Havoc (2020) Review

Robert Bronzi, the star of DEATH KISS and ONCE UPON A TIME IN DEADWOOD, faces his deadliest opponent yet in CRY HAVOC. Co-starring Richard Tyson (KINDERGARTEN COP) Emily Sweet, and JD Angstadt, writer-director Rene Perez’s CRY HAVOC premieres on demand May 5 from Midnight Releasing.

Cry Havoc (2020) Review

An ambitious young reporter is granted an interview with one of the FBI’s most wanted. While entering his compound she finds one of his prized possessions, a serial killer who murders at call, called HAVOC. Her only hope is a rogue police man searching for his daughter.

CRY HAVOC starts promisingly; a young woman is attempting to escape a HILLS RUN RED-styled killer as fires burn in the woodland around her. And that’s as good as writer-director Rene Perez’s film gets. So okay Richard Tyson looks as scrumptious and some of the gore effects are really pleasingly executed but otherwise this feels like three different movies badly patched together for an ill-fitting whole.

In one story strand there’s Richard Tyson’s baddie nattering for an inordinate length of time to a female reporter, in another there’s a Charles Bronson lookalike waving a photo of his daughter in the face of anyone who he doesn’t merit putting a bullet in first. Add to that HAVOC, the lumbering masked killer, with a penchant for ripping off young women’s tops and revealing their boobs, and you have an incoherent mess of a movie that fails to gel and consequently entertain, that fast becomes repetitive and dull.
