In a post-apocalyptic world, a young man must join forces with hardened survivalists during a zombie outbreak.
Directed by Lowell Dean (WOLFCOP), and starring Carrie-Anne Moss (THE MATRIX franchise, MEMENTO), Douglas Smith (TERMINATOR GENISYS, DON’T WORRY DARLING) and Frank Grillo (CAPTAIN AMERICA, THE PURGE: ANARCHY), DIE ALONE is that rare beast, it is a film that takes an overfamiliar genre – in this case the overpopulated zombie genre – and gives it a MEMENTO-style twist (which perhaps explains the casting of one of that film’s stars Carrie-Anne Moss).
Trivia fans may be interested to know that the script for DIE ALONE was written before the release of WOLFCOP but was unable to obtain financing at the time. DIE ALONE is a love story albeit a love story set in an apocalyptic future in the middle of nowhere. Lowell Dean delivers the goods, something he failed to do when attempting to make a comedy-horror, with 2014’s cult hit WOLFCOP, making DIE ALONE an unexpected treat that packs an unexpected emotional wallop come the film’s climax.
