Forgive Us All (2025) Review

In a post-apocalyptic world, where a biotech virus has transformed humans into violent cannibals, a survivor hides in an isolated cabin. But when a stranger arrives with a story of hope, she must choose whether to stay or escape through a zombie-infested forest.

Directed and co-written by Jordana Stott, the film stars Lily Sullivan (EVIL DEAD RISE), Callan Mulvey (THE GRAY MAN), and Richard Roxburgh (VAN HELSING). The film was shot entirely in Queenstown, New Zealand, with a production budget of $10m.

FORGIVE US ALL is a western that trips over into the realms of horror with an impressive zombie-heavy finale. I enjoyed the performances, and I liked the setting, it presents an expectedly very picturesque slice of the New Zealand landscape, and I also thoroughly enjoyed the zombie (referred to here as ‘howlers’) mayhem that finishes the film. Before then though it meanders a little, lacks focus and plays out like a soft uninvolving drama, and it is yet another in a recent trend, a film that pontificates on losing loved ones.
