Inthralled (2025) Review
Directed by Douglas Bankston and written by Bankston and Kate Siegenthaler, INTHRALLED unravels an ancient family curse that resurfaces when a widowed mother and her daughter return to the mother’s childhood home decades after a shocking tragedy. As the past claws its way into the present, a forbidden book reveals terrifying secrets that threaten to continue the curse through the daughter — and her unborn child.
INTHRALLED is a supernatural horror flick that cosies up more towards the drama spectrum than providing much in the way of scares. This is a shame as I felt that the film, for a low-budget indie flick, looked the part, was very professionally put together and showcases performances that hit the mark – that said there are the occasional flat notes – so on the surface this looked to be ticking all the boxes. Unfortunately, it took an age to spin out a yarn that could have been told and felt stronger with a tighter and less indulgent running time.
