The Vindicator (2025) Review
An infamous serial killer disrupts a true crime podcast, challenging the curious hosts to deadly tasks that expose their darkest secrets in the pursuit of exposing the killer’s identity in a twisted new horror.
THE VINDICATOR, from directors Luca Patruno and Brandon Sherrill in their feature debut, kicks off during the recording of a true crime podcast, a podcast that is as stilted and rigid as those seen hosting it. The hosts’ collective delivery manages to make the obscene atrocities committed by the likes of Gacy and Dahmer sound both dull and uninteresting. That is quite the achievement!
Fortunately, once the annoying threesome are away from the studio and following up on an invite from an infamous serial killer that has yet to be caught or identified, they take on challenges that are presented to them from said person and things pick up a bit. It is all highly implausible and silly. THE VINDICATOR results in a less gory SAW imitator that lacks the fancy torture contraptions of that made its influence a success.
The Vindicator is on digital 19 January from Miracle Media
